Art supplies you can find at home

Creating art at home can be a great way to relax and express yourself. Many people find doodling, colouring, or creating soothing and helpful to deal with stress or unwind at the end of the day. You can find materials around your home that you may not of thought of to create with! Below is a list of traditional materials and other items that you could potentially use. Below the list is a link for creating a visual journal which can be a great way to keep a daily art practice.

Art materials you may have:
Pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils, permanent markers, paper, watercolours, canvas boards, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, chalk or oil pastels, scissors, play-doh / clay, hot glue gun, construction paper, pom-poms, beads, sequins, string, felt/fabric, etc.

Other household items which can be used for art making:
Coffee, tea, aluminum foil, egg cartons, salt, coffee filters, Styrofoam (print making), bubble wrap, cardboard rolls (toilet paper/paper towel), q-tips, corks, cupcake liners, newspaper, cardboard, yarn, fabric, tissue paper, old socks, plastic containers, spices, sponges, etc.

Supplies you can find in nature:
Seashells, sticks, pinecones, leaves, flowers, pebbles, rocks, etc.
